The Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden – operating since 1866 – is a quite out of the common spot of this city. The zoo is currently the home of 1072 animals and more than 2000 plants – next to the Heroes Square.
And a huge Biodome will also open its gates soon on 18.000 square meter next tot he Zoo with plenty of tropical plants and trees in it - which is also a remarkable spectacle on the European scale too.
Besides these a lot of specific wild park and smaller zoos can be found across the country.
