All motor vehicles (incl. self drives, chauffeur driven cars + crew vans) in Hungary are legally required to carry third party liability (TPL) insurance against bodily injury liability and property damage liability. In addition Mid Atlantic Films require all rental companies to provide their vehicles with CASCO (fully comprehensive insurance). This is checked and verified by the Transport Department for each hired vehicle and placed on file. The cost of TPL and CASCO insurance is automatically built into the rental price of the vehicle.

Important to note that in Hungary it is the vehicle that is insured (not an individual driver). Therefore any person may drive a vehicle and be covered under the vehicle’s insurance provided they have permission of the owner (i.e. production service company).
